Adult Eye Examinations

For those with known eye disease, the physician is monitoring the progress and recommending appropriate treatment. Eye problems range from simply needing to wear glasses, to blinding diseases such as glaucoma or macular degeneration.

The fact is,  that over 50% of all ocular disease is silent until it is advanced. This means that the individual may not have symptoms until there is already damage. Early detection can allow for a choice of treatment options and a reduced risk of further harm. Therefore, it is recommended that everyone have a complete eye examination every one to two years to monitor ocular health.

A complete examination includes a refraction. This testing may be manual or automated and verifies if glasses would help the individual see better.
