A blocked tear duct in an infant is very common. The signs include overflowing tears, yellow creamy discharge, or eye lash mattering in one or both eyes. Over 90% of the time, this will resolve naturally by the time the infant is one year old. If it has not resolved naturally by this time, research has shown that it probably will not without a procedure.
